1917 – 2014

FARMINGTON — Lily J. Ross, 97, died at the Sandy River Center for Health Care in Farmington on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

She was born in Riley on Oct. 31, 1917, a daughter of Emil and Annie Willi.

Lily is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lamkin and husband, Walter, of Ocklawaha, Fla.; her son, Peter Ross and wife, Priscilla “Poochie,” of Farmington; four grandsons, Troy Lamkin (Hilary) of Standish, Todd Lamkin (Susan Sabin) of Holliston, Mass., Robb Ross (Stephanie) of Valparaiso, Ind., and Ted Ross (Wendy) of Chesterville; and nine grandchildren, Lily and Chaz Lamkin of Standish, Daniel, Katie and Stephanie Lamkin of Holliston, Mass., Gabi and Connor Ross of Valparaiso, Ind., and Preston and Gracie Ross of Chesterville.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 64 years, Atherton “Pete” Ross; her parents; and a sister, Gertie Wheeler and her husband, Harold.

Lily was a 38-year survivor of breast cancer; she was active in helping breast cancer patients in the Reach to Recovery program and received many American Cancer Society awards for over two decades of dedicated participation.

The family wishes to thank all of the health care personnel at the Sandy River Center for Health Care, and especially Mary Orcutt for her friendship and help in recent years.
