of Lisbon celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 5. They were married on June 5, 1954, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston and honeymooned at Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Mrs. Desmarais is retired from home jewelry sales, having won several national sales awards. After many years as a car salesman, Mr. Desmarais retired from Union Camp, driving tractor trailers to deliver goods to customers throughout New England and Canada. Together they have one daughter, Susan, and her husband, Michael Fortier; three granddaughters, Serena Fortier, Tiffany Fortier, Deneka Deletetsky and her husband, Gard; and one great-grandson, Zane Deletetsky.
Mr. Mrs. Desmarais celebrated their anniversary with a surprise limousine ride to Sedgeley’s in Greene, where they enjoyed a dinner hosted by their family. Flowers, champagne and a basket of cards were presented to to the honored couple.
