NEW SHARON — A Farmington woman was taken to a local hospital Monday morning after her car was struck by a pickup truck on Route 2 just past the intersection with Mile Hill Road.

Donna Dalouch, 57, of Farmington was heading east at approximately 5:27 a.m. when a truck driven by Andrew Prindall, 25, of Hiram, which was traveling too close behind her and tried to pass, Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Morgan said.

Prindall’s Ford truck struck the driver’s side of Dalouch’s Subaru, and the car went into a ditch, he said.

The road was slushy, he said.

Dalouch complained of back pain and was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, Morgan said.

Morgan cited Prindall for following too closely, he said.

Dalouch’s car received functional damage, and Prindall’s truck received minor damage.

New Sharon firefighters assisted at the scene.
