PORTLAND — Maine state police are asking drivers to make sure their vehicles are fully cleaned off after at least 20 vehicles have been damages from flying chunks of ice and snow.

State police spokesman Steve McCausland says the cars were damaged Monday along the Maine Turnpike and I-295. Police say much of the damage has occurred in southern Maine, south of Portland.

Police say no one has been injured by flying snow or ice. Damage includes broken windshields and cracked grills.
