FARMINGTON — A public hearing on the town’s updated Comprehensive Plan is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Board of Selectmen meeting.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 153 Farmington Falls Road.
A synopsis and copy of the updated plan are available prior to the hearing at the Municipal Building.
“New to the plan is an introduction, which includes a Vision Statement with a description of the town and its early history. It states that the town will continue to preserve its unique rural character while promoting economic growth and development,” according to the synopsis.
The Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 1998 as a guide for growth and development. It has been amended twice and is expected to be updated periodically.
Guidelines and criteria under the state’s comprehensive planning process have been restated throughout the plan, along with the town’s intentions to address and meet these, according to the synopsis.
