DEAR SUN SPOTS: You may be my last hope!

I have tried for a long time to get help from the manufacturer of my Puma treadmill, without success, and I’ve called gyms around the area looking to see if they could refer me to someone who would come to my house and fix my treadmill.

The results varied from “no one does that” to “why don’t you just let me have your old one and I’ll give you a deal on a new one?”.

It is a very good treadmill, and since it is otherwise in perfect shape, I really don’t want to junk it. It suddenly stopped while I was walking on it. The motor hums but the tread doesn’t move on its own.

Could you print my letter in hope that there is someone who does this kind of repair?

As a longtime Sun Journal reader, I appreciate the service that Sun Spots does for its readers! It just occurred to me that maybe this column could be help me, too!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was wondering if someone out there can help me. I know a disabled boy, who is 14 but very big, who wears a size 13 wide or 14 skate. The skates can be hockey or other; it doesn’t matter.

He would love to skate, and my son wants to teach him to get him outside in fresh air. I can pay a low price. Please call me if you can help. I would be very grateful. — G.A.G., 207-353-6416 or 207-319-0735
