Oxford Hills 64, Cony 58
PARIS — Andrew Fleming drove the baseline for the tying basket with three seconds remaining in regulation, and Oxford Hills shut out Cony in overtime for a pivotal 64-58 Class A East boys’ basketball win.
Both teams are 9-6 in a crowded KVAC playoff race.
Fleming finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Blake Slicer added 14 points, including four free throws in overtime. Liam Stokes led Cony with 23. Tim Cusick chipped in 14.
Oxford Hills made substantial comebacks in the second and fourth quarters. Fleming had eight points and Cole Verrier canned two 3-pointers in the second, cutting a 17-7 deficit to 31-30.
The Rams jumped back out to a seven-point lead before the Vikings closed regulation with a 16-9 flourish. Fleming and Patrick Macro combined for 12 in the period.
Edward Little 54, Brewer 49
BREWER — Ian Mileikis scored 25 points Friday night, Lew Jensen chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Edward Little rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 54-49 KVAC boys’ basketball win over Brewer.
Matt Pushard bolstered Brewer (7-7) with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Jared St. Thomas added 13 points. Logan Rogerson registered 11.
EL used a 17-10 edge in the second quarter to take control.
Hall-Dale 45, Lisbon 40
LISBON — After trailing by five points at the half, Hall-Dale erupted for a 17-9 fourth-quarter run to post a 45-40 victory over Lisbon in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.
Brian Allen led the Bulldogs (10-4) with 16 points, while Wesley Lapointe chipped in 10. Johnny Yim paced the Greyhounds (3-11) with 16 points. Jonah Sautter contributed 12.
Winthrop 78, Wiscasset 57
WISCASSET — Dakota Carter led a trio of players in double figures Friday as Winthrop rolled to a 78-57 rout over Wiscasset in MVC boys’ basketball.
Carter led the Ramblers (12-2) with 13 points, while Matthew Sekerak tallied 12 and Jacob Hickey added 10.
Kevin Lynch and Brandon Sprague paced the Wolverines with a game-high 14 points each.
Valley 74, Rangeley 52
BINGHAM — Junior forward Cody Laweryson notched a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead Valley to a 74-52 victory over Rangeley in EWC boys’ basketball Friday.
The Cavaliers (10-4) jumped out to a 39-21 lead at halftime and pulled away in the second half. Freshman forward Dillon Beane contributed 17 points for Valley.
Junior guard Timmy White paced the Lakers (3-10) with a team-leading 24 points, while sophomore forward Ricky Thompson pitched in 19.
Madison 44, Mtn. Valley 39
MADISON — Junior forward Chase Malloy netted 14 points as Madison collected a 44-39 victory over Mtn. Valley in MVC boys’ basketball Friday.
Ty Cowan had a big second half for the Bulldogs (12-2), scoring seven points. Derek Leblanc finished the night with 11 points for Madison.
Senior guard Brad Marshall recorded a game-high 15 points for the Falcons.
Dirigo 85, St. Dom’s 39
DIXFIELD — Junior guard Riley Robinson tossed a game-high 25 points with seven rebounds and seven assists to lead Dirigo to an 85-39 triumph over St. Dom’s in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.
Kaine Hutchins contributed 18 points for the Cougars (12-2), while Clay Swett added 12 points. Dirigo led 49-13 at the half.
Senior center Becket Wagner led the Saints (6-8) with 13 points. Mike Bryant tallied 12.
Monmouth 63, Oak Hill 38
MONMOUTH — Every player got in on the scoring as Monmouth cruised to a 63-38 victory over Oak Hill in boys’ basketball action Friday.
Luke Thombs tabulated 19 points for the Mustangs (8-6). Monmouth led 29-8 at intermission.
Dalton Therrien scored 11 points on five field goals, including a 3-pointer, for the Raiders (3-11).
