LISBON — Jared Lawrence Rice of Lisbon has opened a new wine bar and restaurant, UnWined, in the Portland Arts District.

Rice is a 2002 graduate of Lisbon High School and 2006 graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I., and has years of experience in the hospitality industry. He dreamed of opening his own restaurant since serving as a busboy at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport at age 16. He studied wine in Napa Valley and has hotel and restaurant management experience in Alaska, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.

UnWined features delectable wines, charcuterie, assorted gourmet cheeses from near and far, salads, small plates and desserts. Rice wanted to create an environment where customer service is impeccable and people feel comfortable and relaxed while enjoying enticing wine and foods.

UnWined is located at 569 Congress St., Portland, near the Maine College of Art and the Portland Museum of Art. Hours of operation are 3 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday. For more information www.unwinedlounge.com or call 207-808-8698.

UnWined is Rice’s second business enterprise. He and his wife, Jamie Bosse, opened Sia Bello Salon and Spa on Center Street, Auburn, in 2013. Rice is the grandson of Noyes and Rae Lawrence of Lisbon Falls.
