AUBURN — The Woman’s Literary Union of Androscoggin County will host an afternoon of Bunco at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.

If you’ve never played Bunco before, it can be a lot of fun and easy to learn. The afternoon will begin with instruction and practice before the real playing begins.

This event will take place at the historic Foss Mansion, 19 Elm St., and is open to the public. Members are encouraged to bring guests. A $5 donation at the door gains admission. Reservations are required.

Light snacks and prizes will be provided.

A $1 book sale will also take place. All donations help WLU maintain the historic Foss Mansion as well as give scholarships to local students.

Also, WLU is looking for prom gown donations for young women in junior and senior high schools. Donate new or cleaned, gently worn formal dresses, gowns and accessories by Thursday, March 26, and members will give them away for free at the Fairy Godmother Prom Gown Giveaway event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Foss Mansion.

Another upcoming event is WLU’s Valentine-themed “Just Desserts” from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, with a $5 admission.
