BRISTOL — Detectives are investigating what they say was a drive-by shooting late Sunday night on Bradley Shore Road.
Two residents were at the home at 34 Bradley Shore Road when it was struck at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday by four bullets from what appears to have been a small-caliber handgun, Lt. Michael J. Murphy of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Adam Oliveri, 36, and a 17-year-old girl were uninjured, although Murphy said one bullet did pass through the wall of the house that faces the street. Three bullets have not yet been recovered, he said.
Oliveri did not report the incident to the sheriff’s office until 9:15 a.m. Monday.
“He told our officer that he wasn’t sure what it was — he didn’t think the house got hit,” Murphy said, but added that Oliveri also told police he “had trust issues with the police.”
“This is a very rare occurrence,” Murphy said. “We don’t have a suspect at this time and we don’t have a reason. We’re hoping maybe somebody saw something.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Sgt. Ron Rollins of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 882-7332.
