SABATTUS —In partnership with area snowmobile clubs, Community Credit Union is hosting the second annual Poker Run in Androscoggin County to raise funds for Maine Credit Union’s Campaign for Ending Hunger.
The Community Poker Run will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Glen Dube Excavation, 118 Littlefield Road.
The cost is $25 for non-snowmobile club members and $20 for members. It includes a poker hand, a beans and franks dinner and fireworks show.
A poker run requires participants to travel (typically by snowmobile, but for this event any mode of transportation is allowed) to local businesses that are noted as “Poker Stops” to get their card stamped. Then, based on the number of stops visited, the participant is dealt a poker hand at the event site in Sabattus. A cash prize of $1,000 will go to the winner.
For those that want to support the cause by just attending the dinner and fireworks show, the cost is $5.
