LEWISTON — Sun Media Group announces the hiring of Larry Gilbert Jr. as the new audience engagement editor for the publications and corresponding websites, including Sun Journal and sunjournal.com.
In this position, Gilbert will be responsible for growing the Sun Media Group brand through social and digital media, crowd-sourcing and utilizing all nontraditional tools to help story contribution. He works to deliver content to readers through the various digital or social platforms that customers can then access for their news consumption, and offer real-time, accurate reporting when breaking news happens, as it happens.
Gilbert attended USM and holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications, as well as a degree in applied science, video and multimedia technology from SMCC. He has also started a celebrity and pop culture blog and podcast, having interviewed many well-known celebrities, musicians, fashion designers, professional athletes and others.
