I am writing to say how much I enjoyed reading the “Street Talk” columns by Mark LaFlamme about the “nanny state” (Jan. 29) and “tips for surviving the storm” (Jan. 28).
How right he was about the nanny state. Things sure aren’t like they used to be, when students walked to school, often long distances and in all kinds of weather. And it didn’t hurt us one bit.
