Matthew McConaughey’s mother’s high school, Sun Spots learned that his mother, Mary Kathleen “Kay” McCabe, is a former kindergarten/substitute teacher and a book illustrator/author, who is originally from Trenton, NJ. Sun Spots called two phone numbers, one for Matt McConaughey’s publicist and the other for his manager. The person who answered at the agency listed as his publicist said that Matthew is not their client. The other phone just rang and rang. Sun Spots was unable to track down any more information on his mother. Perhaps a reader will know more and can help you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for someone who purchased a Saladmaster kettle set around 1970-1980 and who no longer uses the electric skillet that came with this set. I need the electric cord for this skillet. Mine works fine except that the cord is quite soft, showing its age. The company tried to get me a new one but they no longer can get this cord.
