AUBURN — The next meeting of the Androscoggin Beekeepers Club will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, in Room 118 of Edward Little High School.
Club business will be conducted from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a public presentation by Frank Drummond of the University of Maine at Orono titled “CCD and ME: How Colony Collapse Disorder affects Maine Honey Bees.” That presentation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
Drummond is a professor of insect ecology and insect pest management at UMaine. He serves as director of the Pollinator Security Project for Fruit and Vegetable Crops in the Northeast, a USDA-funded organization that studies ways to protect crop pollinators and ensure profitability of fruit and vegetable production in the Northeast.
