OXFORD — A local man remained in a Lewiston hospital Thursday after a head-on collision Wednesday night on Route 26 that also injured three women.

Timothy Quinn, 55, of Oxford sustained serious head and chest injuries after the 1999 Honda Civic he was driving south crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into a car driven by 60-year-old Bonnie Robitaille of Harrison, Oxford police Lt. Mike Ward said.

Quinn was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Thursday evening, a nursing supervisor said.

Robitaille and her two passengers, Kendra Thibodeau, 39, of Norway, in the front seat, and Laura Reiman, 64, of Norway, in the back seat of the 2012 Ford Focus, were taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway. Ward said they were treated and released.

The accident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. at the intersection with Roller Rink Road and near the Oxford Public Safety Building. Ward said it’s still unclear why Quinn’s car crossed the centerline. Maine State Police Trooper Dan Hansen and Paris police officer Michael Dailey are reconstructing the accident.

Sgt. Allen Coffin and Ward handled the initial investigation.

The road, which was slushy at the time, was shut down for more than three hours. Traffic was detoured along King Street and Roller Rink Road.

In addition to Oxford fire, police and rescue personnel, Poland Rescue was at the scene along with PACE ambulance and Paris Fire Department.

Willie’s Auto Body in Paris towed the wrecked cars.
