GARDINER (AP) — One person has been hurt and dozens displaced by a two-alarm fire at a Gardiner apartment complex.

The blaze at the 28-unit Highland Avenue Terrace complex was reported just before midnight Wednesday.

Fire Chief Al Nelson says one woman was taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The cause remains under investigation but Nelson says it appears to have started in an apartment near a common area.

It is not believed to be suspicious.

The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents.
