LOVELL — The Greater Lovell Land Trust invites all to two evening events featuring owls.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library, Bonny Boatman will describe the natural history and habits of the barred owl. This is one of just a few resident owls in Maine. Boatman’s slideshow presentation and her wit will leave you feeling richer for having attended this program.

At 6:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, all are invited to meet at the Greater Lovell Land Trust office on Route 5 for an owl prowl. From there, participants will caravan to one of the preserves and explore the forest after dark, using their eyes and ears to identify owls. Executive Director Tom Henderson will lead this walk.

Dress appropriately for being outdoors at night. Head lamps or flashlights are important. Snowshoes are a must.

Programs will be cancelled in the event of bad weather. Check www.gllt.org or call 207-925-1056.
