Community potluck supper is Feb. 19

WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House will host a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19. The community house is on Plummer Hill in Waterford Flat next to the church.

Hosts for this month are the MacKinnons and the Butteralls. Bring a friend or neighbor and a dish to share and enjoy chatting with new and old friends. Rolls and beverage will be provided.

The Weary Club Coffee gathering

NORWAY — The members and friends of The Weary Club who are brave enough to stay in Maine for the winter will meet for coffee from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. Join members for coffee and Lake Store doughnuts.

Planners will be anxious to know how cold it’s been at your house and how much snow you have — as well as your secret for enduring the Maine winter.

Access Channel seeks video volunteers

MEXICO — Western Valley Access Channel is looking for volunteers to videotape local community and school events including but not limited to sports, plays and concerts.

Training in the use of the equipment is provided. Any interested people are encouraged to contact Pam Bevins at the station by calling 364-3764, ext. 208, or emailing at wvactv7@gmail.com.

Chicken pie supper, Jones Dance Band

PARIS — There will be a chicken pie supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Foster-Carroll Post No. 72, 12 Church St., sponsored by the Auxiliary Unit No. 72.

Cost for supper only is $8 for adults, $4 ages 12 and under.

The Jones Dance Band will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dance only is $5. 

Oxford Legion seeks sale vendors

OXFORD — On Saturday, Feb. 28, Anderson Staples American Legion Post 112 will hold an indoor yard sale/craft fair at their Post Home on King Street. The hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A limited amount of tables are available to rent for $15. To rent a table, contact Ed at 539-4345 for more information.

The public is invited. Donations will be accepted for coffee and doughnuts.

Post 112 will also host a public supper that same day from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will consist of beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, brown bread and gingerbread with whipped topping for dessert. A variety of drinks will also be available. Supper will be by donation.

All money received from this day will be used to help with projects that include veterans activities and community service.
