1926 – 2015

WEST PARIS — Letha Davis Woodworth, 88, of South Paris, passed away at Ledgeview Living Center on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

She went to school in Norway and received her GED from Oxford Hills High School. She graduated from the Auburn School of Commerce in accounting. She also received several certificates in the medical field, including CNA and activity director.

Letha worked in several nursing homes and local restaurants. She was civic-minded and volunteered in civil defense and for the Republican Party. She was a Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout denmother and a Sunday school teacher at First Congregational Church in South Paris.

She belonged to the “Muffin Club,” in which several friends met to make arts and crafts. Her family brought her many hours of treasured times, which was very important to her.

She is survived by her three children, Anita L. Parsons of Florida, Dennis T. and his wife, Betty-Jean, and Calvin B. and his wife, Pam, all of South Paris; seven grandchildren, Saunda Morin and husband, Christopher, Stephen Woodworth and wife, Lisa, Spencer Woodworth and wife, Cindy, Stephanie Woodworth, Jennifer Woodworth and husband, Wayne Goodall, Joanne Steeves and husband, Mike, and Emily Woodworth; 10 great-grandchildren, Derek, Mikayla, Sean, Jack, Spencer Jr., Owen, Sam, Abby, Anabelle and Riley; two sisters, Jane Robbins and husband, Richard, of Florida and Ruth Shappell and husband, William, of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Alice Thyng and Marie Woodworth; and her special son-in-law, Thomas Parsons.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, William A. Woodworth; granddaughter, Elisha; a sister, Margaret, of Florida; and a brother, Bradley, of Oxford.
