RUMFORD — Police are investigating a reported baseball bat assault on Waldo Street on Thursday night, Chief Stacy Carter said Friday morning.
Sgt. Tracey Higley responded to the report of an injured man at about 9 p.m. A Med-Care ambulance took the victim to Rumford Hospital.
Carter said the man had a head wound that “was consistent with being struck with an object.”
Carter said officers have identified those involved and expects to have more information soon.
Mexico police assisted at the scene.
