AUBURN — City Council workshop and regular meeting in the City Council Chamber in Auburn Hall. The workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. and topics include a general update on planning and permitting and updates about the the Norway Savings Bank Arena financials and bonds. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include reusing Ingersoll Arena and funding a downtown transportation center and bus stop.

LEWISTON — School Committee meeting, 6:45 p.m., Dingley Building, downtown Oak Street. Agenda: report on Superintendent Bill Wesbter’s recommendations for controversial proficiency-based diploma for the Class of 2018, followed by work on proposed 2015-16 budget. Budget review includes LRTC, Lewiston High and Lewiston Middle schools.

TUESDAY, March 17

LEWISTON — City Council workshop and regular meeting in the City Council Chamber on the bottom floor of City Hall. The workshop begins at 6 p.m. and discussions include a review of a planned stormwater system audit and community development block grant plan. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include demolition protocols, a downtown parking agreement and setting aside money to build an accessible playground in Marcotte Park.

LEWISTON — St. Patrick’s sing-along, 7:30-9:30 p.m., Franco Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St., with folk Irish singer Dave Rowe, who had his on-stage teeth cut in Irish pubs. LEWISTON — Conversation with Ruchira Gupta, founder and president of Apne Aap Women Worldwide, grass-roots organization in India to end sex trafficking, 4:30 p.m., Mays Center, 95 Russell St., public invited, free. During the past 25 years Gupta has worked to highlight the link between trafficking and prostitution laws, and lobby policymakers to shift blame from victims to perpetrators.

LEWISTON — Great Falls Forum, “Indians, Wabanaki Peoples, Our Past and Present Stories” by John Bear Mitchell, outreach and student development coordinator of the Wabanaki Center and University of Maine’s Wabanaki Studies lecturer, talk begins at noon. Bring a bag lunch.
