LISBON — St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church is offering a free women’s seminar, “The Glory of Suffering,” led by Kati King, from 9:30 a.m. until noonon Saturday, March 28, in Lisbon.

“Suffering is mysteriously powerful, leaving even the most God-fearing people wondering if God’s love even exists,” said King. “Yet scripture teaches it’s both necessary and glorifying as first exemplified in Christ, who was glorified on the cross as a suffered.”

A free lunch will be provided. RSVP to the church at 207-353-8453 or [email protected].

For 10 years, King has served with Young Life, an international Christian outreach to high school students. She is the Sebago Area Director and is currently enrolled at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

After graduating with a degree in Media Studies from the University of Southern Maine, King worked for Garrand Marketing. She also served with Youth with a Mission in South Africa and the Philippines.

A Gorham native, King grew up on one of the last working, local dairy farms. She spent her childhood in 4-H and still shows her Holstein dairy cows at the Fryeburg Fair.

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, founded in 1906, brings together contemporary worship with ancient ritual, Bible-based preaching, expressions of the Holy Spirit, and loving service to others.

The church is located on the hill off Route 196. For more information, visit www.StMatthewsLisbon.org.
