1946 – 2015

AUBURN — Therese M. Howes, 68, of Sabattus passed away on Tuesday, March 17, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born in St. Clair on Dec. 4, 1946, the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Morin) Albert.

She loved making ceramics and doing crafts, collecting coupons and going to yard sales. Therese especially loved dancing with her husband, John, and winning contests at the Ramada Inn. She raised nine children with her husband, John, three of her own, and her six youngest brothers and sisters, whom she took into her family.

As a young lady, Therese worked in the Lewiston mills. She then opened a ceramic and craft business in her home, which she owned and operated for 25 years. Later on, she managed Big Apple stores for many years.

Therese was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Bruce, Paul, Camille and Gile Albert.

She is survived by her husband, John C. Howes Sr. of Sabattus; her son, John C. Howes Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Lewiston; two daughters, Tina M. Boulette and husband, Patrick, of Wales, and Pauline P. Priestly of Sabattus; granddaughter, Kayla M. Caron and husband, Matt, of Lewiston; sisters, Nancy A. Albert, and Dianna J. Albert, both of Lewiston; brothers, Leo Albert and wife, Liz, of Portland, Gerald Albert and fiancée, Lisa, of Lewiston, and James Albert and his fiancée, Autumn, of North Carolina; and brother-in-law, Patrick Howes Sr. and his fiancée, Doris Chamberlain, of Sebastian, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
