THOMASTON — A 48-year-old Rockland man apparently was electrocuted Sunday, according to Thomaston police.
Christie Williams had been welding in the back of a Jeep outside a Pleasant Street residence before he was found dead by his girlfriend. The woman called 911 shortly before 4 p.m.
Thomaston police Officer Michael Blais said the equipment was plugged into an extension cord, but it was unclear if that was a factor in the death.
Police Chief Kevin Haj said the victim was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. He was not sure if an autopsy was being planned. He said that at this point, it is assumed Williams was electrocuted but that a medical finding would be needed to confirm that.
