1962 – 2015

BRIDGTON — David R. Onofrio, 52, of Norway died unexpectedly on Monday, March 23, in Bridgton.

David was born in Norway on Dec. 14, 1962, a son of Richard N. and Mary Lou (Cullinan) Onofrio. He attended local schools and was a 1981 graduate of Oxford Hills High School.

David was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed this trade for most of his life. He had been employed by KBS Building Systems in South Paris, where he was also a foreman. Prior to that, he worked for Waterford Homes and Robinson Manufacturing.

He taught karate in his own studio and was a second-degree black belt. David also enjoyed snowmobiling, pontoon-boating and hiking, and was an avid expert skier. He was an animal lover and had a gentle spirit.

He married his loving wife, Gracie Pike of Waterford, on Aug. 9, 1991.

Besides his wife, he leaves behind his parents, Richard N. and Mary Lou Onofrio of Norway and Florida; his daughter, Tanesha and her husband, Thomas Pottle, of Perry; his son, Justin Onofrio and his wife, Natasha, of Augusta; a stepdaughter, Nichelle Herrick of Denmark; his sister, Sherry and her husband, Jeffrey Grant, of Norway; his brother, Michael Onofrio and his wife, Celeste, of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Levi, Roman and Sean; an aunt, Beverly Onofrio of Norway; a nephew, Nicholas Grant; and a niece, Caitlin Grant.
