1920 – 2015

AUBURN — Maurice P. Mynahan, 94, of Auburn passed away Tuesday, March 24, at the Clover Manor following a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 17, 1920, the son of William and Bernadette (Genest) Mynahan.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945.

On Sept. 17, 1949, he married Dorris Levesque.

He worked for 29 years as a salesman for Snow’s Inc. and later for eight years at Hall & Knight until his retirement.

He was very active at the former St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston.

An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he loved spending time with his immediate and extended family.

He is survived by his wife, Dorris of Auburn; his sons, Patrick and wife, Sandra, of Poland, James and wife, Jennie, of Auburn, and Michael of Lewiston; his daughters, Kathleen DeLong and husband, Thomas, of Barrington, N.H., and Eileen Cosby and husband, Richard, of Idaho Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Phyllis Theberge of Lewiston, and Eleanor Bruce and husband, William, of West Bath; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; stepmother; three sisters; four brothers; and by his beloved grandson, Brendan.
