LEWISTON — L/A Arts has announced the 2015 Arthur Awards gala event to celebrate individuals and the community-at-large for outstanding support of its local arts agency. The event will take place at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar St., from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 3.
Arthur (or “Arty”) Awards go out to individuals and organizational representatives who have demonstrated exemplary partnerships and support of L/A Arts and its efforts to serve the twin cities with outstanding programs.
The event will honor this year’s award recipients over a complete evening experience, including a full dinner, presentations, live music and dancing.
It is being held to thank all those who support L/A Arts’ core programs: Arts in Education, Arts and Culture L/A, Ice Festival L/A, Artwalk L/A and the Public Sculpture Project.
Recipients include Volunteer of the Year is Steve Bradford; Enduring Creativity, Grayling Cunningham; Government Supporter, Lincoln Jeffers; Arts Education, Stephen Whitfield; Arts Partner, Judy Andrucki; and Business Supporter, David Gendron.
A welcoming reception will open the evening at 6 p.m. followed by the annual meeting and slideshow presentation. After dinner the Arthur Awards, handmade works of art, will be presented followed at 8:15 p.m. with live music and dancing with the Rockin Recons.
Tickets are $40 a person/or at the door, or take advantage of the early bird special by bringing a friend and paying $50 for two. Discounted whole-table options are available as well. Tickets are in limited in supply.
