LEWISTON — The Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area is organizing the Y-Not challenge, a two-week scavenger hunt-style community service and civic engagement challenge. The kickoff celebration will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing in Lewiston.

From April 7 to 21 teams will work to complete the challenges and submit them to their team mentor. The challenge is designed to educate, motivate and recruit the next generation of community leaders. Teams will gain knowledge of local government, businesses and nonprofit organizations.

At the end of the two weeks, there will be a Y-Not Finale Celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the USM Lewiston/Auburn campus, with prizes, food and entertainment.
