Singer-songwriter at Norway Library

NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library will host Nancy Stewart for a special music program at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 10. Stewart is an award-winning children’s singer/songwriter who lives outside Seattle, Wash.

She is visiting Maine to be the keynote speaker at the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy’s 7th Annual Literacy Connections conference.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the contagious sing-along fun that is a part of every Nancy Stewart concert.

Paris Fire Department sets roast

PARIS — The Paris Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a public supper of roast pork, potatoes, veggies, salads, rolls and assorted homemade pies with ice creamat 5 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at the Paris Fire Station on Western Avenue.

Adults $8, ages 4-12, $4 and ages three and under free. A 50/50 raffle will be conducted.

Otisfield sets lunch, book swap

OTISFIELD — A free community lunch and book swap will be conducted from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Spurrs Corner Church on Rt. 121. Donations accepted.

Menu: baked ham, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, salads, rolls, cake, coffee and tea.

Ticket auction slated for Paris

PARIS — A ticket auction will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, 256 Main St. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Dustin Vachon, a senior at Oxford Hills Technical School, recently won first place in the state for Automotive Collision Repair with SkillsUSA.

Proceeds from the auction will support his trip to Louisville, Ky., where he will represent Maine in the national competition.

CPR, first aid class in Oxford

OXFORD — A CPR and first aid class will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Oxford Public Safety Building.

Instruction will include basic first aid, CPR for adults, children and infants, and use of an automated external defibrillator.

On completion of the one-day class, a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association will be given. The certification is accepted for day/childcare providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other non-healthcare related professions.

Call to confirm the date. Groups may request to schedule a class at their convenience. Healthcare BLS CPR recertifications are done as needed one on one.
