I thank Stephen King for setting the record straight as to the misleading comments Gov. Paul LePage made about the taxes King pays to this great state of Maine that King still calls home.

I also thank King for insisting that LePage apologize for his misstatements (which he probably never will).

Mainers have all seen LePage’s past behaviors where he spouts off at the mouth about some issue and never recants or admits wrongdoing. LePage chooses to act like a bully and does as he damned well feels like doing.

Perhaps there are some places in Maine where LePage could get away with such actions as trying to defame the state’s great residents. It would do him good to inform Maine people of all the great things King does for this state and for charities, things that go mostly unnoticed.

LePage also should admit that King does pay a lot in taxes and does not dodge them as he suggested that many people in King’s financial situation do.

LePage’s arrogance must stop.
