*Grade point average of 85% for four years
*Student must be a graduating high school senior.
*The student shall have submitted an application to an accredited school (four years or less, including vocational training institutes)
*Selected and final decision will be made by the selection committee of Christmas in the Valley
Special Requirements
*Student must submit a 400 word narrative to be read by the scholarship committee which will include the student’s future plans (career, life style, contribution to society) and how this scholarship would affect those future plans.
***Narrative shall be typed. It should be submitted to the River Valley Chamber office at 10 Bridge Street in Rumford along with the completed application form no later than May 1, 2015. The scholarship committee will then evaluate the essay for clarity of expression, conciseness, and content.
Guidelines for Funds Administration
The student pursuing a two-year or a four-year program will be awarded $250.00 during the first year, paid directly to the student on completion of the 1st semester and presentation of his/her grade point average transcript to the Chamber Office.
Written proof of return to college for the 2nd semester must also be made at that time.
If the student does not complete his/her course studies, the funds will revert to the scholarship committee to be awarded to a student attending college, from the same graduating class.
