1920 – 2015

LEWISTON — Cecile T. Forgues, 94, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavillion with her family by her side.

Born in Canada on June 14, 1920, the daughter of Josephat and Bernadette (Boisvert) Tancrede, she attended local schools.

Cecile was a lifelong resident of Lewiston, where she met and married the love of her life, Lucien Forgues, on Feb. 9, 1946, and together they raised their family. She worked at the Bates Mill and local shoe shops retiring in 1983 at the age of 62. She loved going to Sam’s with her friends (peeps), enjoyed playing Bingo and loved going to Old Orchard Beach for pizza and fries. One of the most important things that she enjoyed doing was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons Henry Forgues of Lewiston, Raymond and his wife, Terry Forgues, of Lewiston, and David and his wife, Lisa Forgues, of Auburn; a sister, Laurette Audibert of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband; a daughter-in-law, Sue Forgues; two brothers, Roland and Arthur; and a sister, Fernande.

The family would like to thank the staff at d’Youville for taking such good care of Cecile while she was in their care.
