1921 – 2015

LEWISTON — Germaine F. Galipeau, 93, a resident of 200 Stetson Road, Auburn, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion Sunday evening, April 12, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 19, 1921, the daughter of Cyrille and Roseanne (Gauthier) Ferland. Germaine resided in Lewiston most of her life and in November 1941, married the love of her life, Albert Galipeau Sr.

Her greatest joys in life were raising her family, gardening, golfing and senior citizen trips. She was a longtime member of the Prince of Peace Parish.

While living at Schooner Estates, Germaine knitted baby blankets and baby bonnets for young babies being baptized.

Survivors include one son, Albert Galipeau Jr. and wife, Denise, of Lewiston; one daughter, Susan Miller and husband, Stephen, of Lewiston; and one sister, Noella Hemond of Minot. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Katelyn, Mark, Matthew, and Rachel Miller, and Maegan and Emma Galipeau; and one great-grandson, Cameron Ellis, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Galipeau Sr.; and one brother, Lionel Ferland Sr.
