Season outlook: The Lakers field a team for the first time since 2012, so it wasn’t a great year for a late-arriving spring. Rangeley’s lone outdoor time thus far has been on the paved cul de sac adjacent to the school. Cavalier is the only player with prior varsity experience. The large freshman class was part of a successful middle school program a year ago. Thompson, Beaulieu, Kyle LaRochelle and Zack Trafton should emerge as leaders. Coach LaRochelle simply wants to get the program back on solid footing and keep up morale, regardless of wins and losses, so the players will commit to a four-year run.
