The City of Old Town is seeking resident volunteers who are interested in serving on a committee to oversee the Update of the 1995 Comprehensive Plan.

Volunteers for this committee should have an interest in how the city is growing, be willing to be part of a collaborative problem solving team and preferably, have knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Land Use, Business/Manufacturing/Forestry/Agriculture, Housing, Natural Resources, Recreation/Open Space, Transportation/Public Facilities, Cultural/Historic Resources, Fiscal Capacity.

The committee will convene 10-12 times over the next 15 months for meetings that will average two hours in length. Members of the committee may be asked to assist with identifying stakeholders, data gathering/summarizing, posting promotional notices for public outreach events at public and private gathering places, reviewing and commenting on written reports by the city’s consultant and communicating with civic and non-profit groups about the plan and its suggested goals, policies and strategies.
