NORWAY — Guy E. Rowe Elementary School students and teachers recently hosted a showcase evening of grade-level and schoolwide standards of literacy.

The literacy program was a summation of students’ second trimester learning, skills and projects displayed for their families and other students.

Students’ literacy projects were displayed throughout the building — in classrooms, the school cafeteria, gymnasium and hallways.

The school’s student ambassadors and parent volunteers provided a refreshment table, a map of grade-level literacy project locations, surveys of the event and the school’s Home and School Compact.

Green Gardens, a nursery and landscaping business in Norway, displayed small plots of plants to welcome spring.

An estimated 300 parents, grandparents and students attended the literacy showcase on March 18.
