Residents in the RSU 16 towns of Poland, Mechanic Falls and Minot are facing an increase in taxes due to school budgets. People should not be uninformed voters.

Informational meetings will be held on Tuesday, April 28, at the Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls; on Wednesday, April 29, at the Poland Community School; and on Thursday, April 30, at the Minot Consolidated School.

These meetings are due to start at 6 p.m. at each of the locations.

Schools belong to the residents and it is their tax money supporting them. People should attend the meeting in their town and give their input.

Only when the townspeople speak up will they be able to see changes.

Voices of the public can make a difference.
