SeniorsPlus to hold caregiver training

RANGELEY — SeniorsPlus will hold the Savvy Caregiver 1 training for Franklin County from 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesdays, May 5 to June 9, at the Rangeley Town Office.

The class is designed for those caring for family members with dementia, training how to reduce stress and communicate more easily with the loved ones.

This class is free but pre-registration is required. It is sponsored by the Maine University of New England Geriatric Education Center.

OTISFIELD — The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesdays, May 5 and 19, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The pantry is open to residents of Otisfield on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

WEST PARIS — The Neighborhood Niche Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 5 and 19, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St. The pantry is open the first and third Tuesdays of each month and West Paris residents are invited to come once a month.

NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library with comic book shop the Dragon’s Lair will celebrate Free Comic Book Day and Children’s Book Week by giving out free comic books to kids and teens Wednesday, May 6.
