The workshop is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and topics include tactical urban changes to downtown streets and the lower Bark Mill dam. The regular meeting begins at 7 p.m. and topics include approving Festival Plaza food trucks and other downtown tactical urban changes, block grant funding and tree nursery lease.

LEWISTON — Planning Board meeting, 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber on the bottom floor of City Hall. The topic is the proposed comprehensive plan as it pertains to the natural environment, community planning and facilities and services.

TUESDAY, May 5

LEWISTON — City Council workshop and regular meeting in the City Council Chamber on the bottom floor of City Hall. The workshop begins at 6 p.m. and topics include the 2015-16 fiscal year budget and amendments to the county charter. The regular meeting follows at 7 p.m. and topics include a budget public hearing and votes on the proposed 2015-16 fiscal year school budget and a first reading vote on the municipal budget.

LEWISTON — Talk by authors of “The Franco-Americans of Lewiston-Auburn,” 7 p.m. in Callahan Hall of Lewiston Public Library. Mary Rice DeFosse and James Myall will talk about how Franco Americans grappled with questions of patriotism, identify and culture. Admission is free.

LEWISTON — Lewiston-Auburn Public Health Committee meeting, 3 p.m. in the conference room on the third floor of City Hall.

SATURDAY, May 9

AUBURN — Annual fishing derby for 3- to 8-year-olds, 8-11 a.m. at the pond in Pettengill Park, rain or shine.
