Hand bell concert set for May 9

AUBURN — The United Methodist Church’s hand bell concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the UMC, 439 Park Ave. in Auburn.

This year the Methodist Ringers will be joined by the Towne Lyne Ringers from the Foreside Community Church of Falmouth.

The concert is free to the public and will be followed by an ice cream social.

West Bowdoin Cemetery Association to meet

BOWDOIN — The annual West Bowdoin Cemetery Association meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the West Bowdoin Baptist Church.

La Leche League invites new mothers to May 14 meeting

AUBURN — The La Leche League for expectant women and breastfeeding mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at 102 Bennett Ave.

The discussion will be “The Advantages of Breastfeeding for Mother and Baby.” All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion.

The league suggests participants begin attending during pregnancy, and continue attending to gain support throughout their breastfeeding experience.

Babies are always welcome.

Cary Library to present on coexisting with Canada geese

WAYNE — The Cary Memorial Library will hold a panel discussion on issues relating the Canada geese at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at at 17 Old Winthrop Road.

The goal is to compile as much information as possible concerning coexistence with this beautiful, iconic and potentially disruptive species.

Following the discussion, panelists will take questions from the audience as time allows and the resulting information will be compiled into a single document which will be available to assist Wayne and other Maine communities seeking to manage the growing resident goose populations.

Wayne resident Anne Huntington will moderate the discussion.
