FARMINGTON — A Dixfield man is accused of assaulting and having unwanted sexual contact with an acquaintance, Franklin County sheriff’s Lt. David St. Laurent said Tuesday.

Anson Jackson, 38, was arrested Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence assault. He also received a summons on a misdemeanor charge of unlawful sexual contact, he said.

Jackson showed up at the woman’s residence without warning, St. Laurent said.

Deputy Colt Bernhardt began an investigation Wednesday night when a complaint was received. Detectives Stephen and Kenneth Charles continued the investigation with St. Laurent on Thursday, including meeting with the woman and talking to witnesses and Jackson.

Jackson was arrested at his residence in Dixfield.

He posted $250 cash bail to be released from the Franklin County jail, St. Laurent said. He is expected to appear in a Farmington court June 2.
