PARIS — A Poland man’s license was revoked for six years Wednesday, after he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence twice within a month.
In addition to the license suspension, Anthony Billings Sr., 43, was sentenced to one year in jail with all but 30 days suspended and fined $2,300 in Oxford County Superior Court.
According to court records, Billings was arrested in Oxford on Sept. 25, 2014, and in Norway on Oct. 17, 2014, for drunken driving, after being found passed out behind the steering wheel. In both incidents, his vehicle was in drive and stopped in the middle of the road, and his foot was on the brake pedal.
In the Oxford incident, an Oxford Police Department officer found an open beer can on Billings’ lap after a caller reported a car stopped along Route 26 in front of The Big Apple. In the Norway incident, Billings reportedly asked the Norway police officer why he had been pulled over, according to court records.
There were no injuries in either case.
Billings was convicted of drunken driving in 2009 and 2010, according to court documents.
