Since Benjamin “Ben” Chin announced his candidacy for mayor of Lewiston, I feel the excitement and enthusiasm. Now there is hope for a unified Lewiston.
Chin attended Bates College on a scholarship. During his freshman year he earned the trust and respect from the residents of Lewiston by volunteering. While earning his political science degree, being a caring man, he worked where help was needed and started to advocate against injustices.
After graduating from Bates, he went back home for a short period of time, but he knew his calling was not to make six-figure wages, but to return to Lewiston to advocate for justice and fairness for all.
For the past 10 years, he has been working on campaigns on voting rights, health care, safe housing, and to bring economic growth, prosperity and positive changes to Lewiston.
I will be voting for Ben Chin for mayor.
Diane Grandmaison, Lewiston
