TOPSHAM — The Orion Performing Arts Center will hold its first “Create-A-Play” Theater/Art Day Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, July 13 to 17.

The camp is inviting 20 middle-school-age students to develop characters, write their own play together, create all the scenery and perform the play. Half of each day will consist of theater activities: character development, scene writing, acting skills, projecting the voice and theater games.

The other half of the day will be spent creating visual arts such as set design and building, props, costumes and self-portraits. The play will be performed at 3 p.m. Friday, July 17, and will be followed by a cast and family party.

Registration brochures are available online and at Mt. Ararat Middle School, 66 Republic Drive, Topsham.

The camp is open to SAD 75 students until May 26. If it does not fill, it will open to all students entering grades six to nine in the fall.
