RUMFORD — Among the calls answered by the Rumford Police Department recently were:
* At 6:34 a.m. May 16, a report was received that during the night, a vehicle did extensive damage to the Hosmer Field gate and field from a vehicle. Sgt. Tracey Higley is investigating.
* At 11:59 p.m. May 15 on Cumberland Street, Nathan Palmer, 32, of Rumford, was arrested on charges of operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to report an accident by the quickest means. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail and will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. July 13 in 11th District Court.
* At 4:23 p.m. May 15, a Route 108 resident reported a burglary and theft of several items from his residence, including firearms. Cpl. Lawrence Winson is investigating.
* At 8:35 p.m. May 14, Riginal D. Fairley, 25, of McLain, Miss., was arrested on a charge of operating without a license. He was released on $300 unsecured bail and will be arraigned on July 13 in 11th District Court.
