LEWISTON — Residents of central Maine in search of a fun and creative night out have a new option: Avant-Garde Maine is opening the first paint bar in Lewiston-Auburn.

Located at 182 Lisbon St. in downtown Lewiston, Avant-Garde offers a choice of wine, beer and nonalcoholic beverages while guests visit and receive art instruction from local artists. Simple step-by-step instruction allows even those with no painting experience the opportunity to create a their own work of art. Avant-Garde provides all the supplies, which include paint, a 16-by-20-inch canvas and aprons.

Individuals, groups and children are all invited to participate in this art experience.

Avant-Garde offers a variety of additional painting experiences, including formal K-12 art instruction, private parties for birthdays, bachelorette parties and can design individualized sessions for work events or team building.
