LEWISTON — The Maine Center for Creativity (MCC) will host the second of three 2015 Creative Toolbox Art + Science Series events on Saturday, June 13, this one at The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing.

James Beard Award winning chef Rob Evans, owner of Duckfat, will present a cooking demonstration and discussion on the Art + Science of Food, using four culinary pillars — Salt, Knives, Temperature and Air — to illustrate the history of food innovation.

“Rob has helped bring national prominence to Maine as a center of culinary creativity and excellence,” said MCC interim executive director David Swardlick. “His passion for food innovation is driven by the kind of curiosity and mastery of his discipline we see wherever there is great achievement in the arts and sciences.”

In its three-part 2015 Creative Toolbox Art + Science series, the Maine Center for Creativity focuses on how art and science combine and complement each other to drive innovation in business.

“An Afternoon with Chef Rob Evans” features the James Beard Award winning chef in his element. Part cooking demonstration and part discussion, the event will explore creativity through the history of food innovation.

The event will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the demonstration kitchen at the Dempsey Center.

To register, contact [email protected] or call 207-730-0199. Tickets are $35. The event is open to the public, but space is limited. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the programs of Maine Center for Creativity and The Patrick Dempsey Center.
