RUMFORD — The Rumford Community Home and River Valley Rotary Club are working together to organize a barbecue and yard sale to raise money for the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The barbecue and yard sale, scheduled for Friday, June 26, will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents will be able to purchase a meal consisting of hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, potato salad, chips and soda for $5. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

Georgette Hodgson, office manager of the Rumford Community Home, said that this was the “first year that the Rumford Community Home has worked with the Rotary Club to hold a fundraiser like this.

“We’ve passed out flyers to local businesses and have been trying to spread the word,” Hodgson said. “We’re hoping that it’s going to get a lot of support.”

All of the profits at the barbecue and yard sale will go to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter.
