AUGUSTA — Phero Thien P. Nguyen, 64, of Augusta died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 30, at his home.
He was born in Vietnam on Nov. 28, 1950, the son of Huynh Van Nguyen and Tuoi Thi Vo. Thien was an avid fisherman — one of the many passions he shared with his wife, Kim.
Thien and his wife were inseparable, and they enjoyed being with their friends and family, always making memories.
Thien served in the South Vietnamese Navy. He was employed for several years by Procter & Gamble Co.
Surviving is his wife, Kim (Tran) Nye of Augusta; children, Tina Bizar of Scarborough, Tim Nye of Scarborough, Tom Nye of Augusta, Pat Nye of Harrison, Michael Gilley of Biddeford and Elizabeth Nguyen of Maine; six grandchildren, Timothy Nye, Katrina Nye, Michael Nye, Leland Bragalone, Alyssa Nye and Landyn Nye; three brothers: Tien Dung of Vietnam, Minh Tuan of Australia and Phuoc Hung of Vietnam; five sisters, Kim Lan of Vietnam, Thu Anh of Australia, Binh Nga of California, Nhu Hoang of Vietnam and Kim Tien of Australia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
